"The most common usage of spring cleaning refers to the
yearly act of cleaning a house from top to bottom which would take place in the
first warm days of the year typically in spring, hence the name. However it has
also come to be synonymous with any kind of heavy duty cleaning or organizing
enterprise"

In the spirit of
"spring cleaning", the EDEP staff took a very close look at the enrichment
opportunities offered so far this year. We're happy to see that we're offering
activities in a wide variety of subjects and that EDEP students this year have
had many more opportunities to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering,
Math) this year than in years past.
Of the 53
programming days we’ve had...
(not including
Genius Hour/Maker Time Thursdays, Fun Day Friday)
22 days have
featured a MATH related activity –
42%
8 days have featured a SCIENCE related activity – 15%
21 days have been TECHNOLOGY related – 40%
(including our current Inventions Timeline and our Art
& Technology days)
6 days have featured ENGINEERING challenges – 11%
27 have included some sort of ART project or final product – 51%
4 days have incorporated the PERFORMING ARTS – 1%

The goal for the rest of the school year is to continue
offering high quality programming, exciting enrichment opportunities, and
explore students' interests while having loads of FUN (preferably in the
SUN!)
